introductions channel

A place to tell us a little about what you write, what you are currently working on, and anything you'd like to share about your background. Feel free to drop links to your publications or author site.

general channel

This is where most of the casual chat happens, non-writing-related.

writing-chat channel

Chat in here is writing-related. You can discuss your work, the writing process, ask questions of our other writers and so on.

Writing channels

We have a number of writing channels where writers share live progress on writing, such as day-to-day updates and sprints.

A sprint is a timed period to write that you can use to focus on your work. We provide a bot called Sprinto that can run these sprints, tracking your work counts and progress.

writing-sessions channel

Daily sprints, goals and progress on your projects.

nanowrimo channel (seasonal)

Used in November for writers tracking their progress for the National Novel Writing event.

ednowrimo channel (seasonal)

We periodically hold our own version of NaNoWriMo, Edinburgh Novel Writing Month, with regular sprints and moral support as our writers focus on their writing.

Writers bar

A collection of channels that are fairly self-explanatory

Critique channels

Critiques may be requested in any of the writing channels. Regular contributors to the community can request a role to access our critique channels, but for short works query letters, and synopsis feedback, this channel is open to all:
